Celyn Farmers' MarketWe run markets in Mold and Grosvenor Garden Centre, Chester, providing direct access to producers offering a wide range of fresh, local, seasonal food plus quality plants and crafts including:
Our markets are a great opportunity to meet local producers and purchase premium quality goods that conform to our strict FARMA certification criteria, and have low food miles!
We are running a series of themes for the market this year - in May we are celebrating herbs - both the plants and cullinary uses! At Mold we sell plants from Mold Country Markets and at Grosvenor Garden Centre you can buy them from the Garden Centre. Our producers use herbs in everything from bread to ready meals - we'll be posting some recipe ideas here soon! Recipes Here are two great Victorian Farmers' Wives recipes from Caroline Haydn of Bwyd Enaid, Bean and Bread Soup and John Buffs Special, read the full recipes here... Sourcing your food Keeping the food chain as short as possible benefits us from an economic and heatlh perspective - at our markets you can buy direct from the farmer and the producer. Bryn Cocyn, Dolwen and North Wales Buffalo (who also supply lamb and beef) are local farms bringing their own produce direct to the market and they make their own burgers and mince meat. Meat is great for freezing so you can buy for the month ahead. New producers welcome! We welcome new applications from local traders and producers, please come to a market and see what is on offer and check if you have a product that complements those already on offer. If you are selling something that is already available we can always put you on the waiting/reserve list. If you would like to join us, please complete the online application form here and return by post or email. |
